Communications Executive, APAC

Company: Leading European Sports Club

Location: Hong Kong

Our client, a leading European sports club is looking for seasoned communication lead to spearhead the
communications department of the club in APAC. The candidate will ensure the application of the club’s strategic plan and the annual plans defined in the HQs.

One of the key pillars of the role is the creation of a communications and marketing plan specific to APAC, to boost the brand in the strategic markets: China, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea, and India.


  • Support and cooperation in the definition of the Marketing and Communications plans in APAC
  • Work alongside the communications department and Media Manager to establish the publicizing of messages and campaigns in APAC, with the aim of satisfying the objectives of the sponsor, the club, and the brand.
  • Construction of an influencer strategy, with the aim of spreading our messages in a credible, integrated way. Construction of a base of influencers with a long-lasting relationship and one-off actions.
  • Build a plan to position key spokespeople among top events in the region.
  • Ensure that the actions and campaigns in APAC construct Brand Equity, built on the fundamentals of the Brand Strategy (objectives, mission, values, Club motto..)
  • Devise and carry out communications campaigns for Main Sponsors, alongside the Activation team, with the aim of spreading the sponsor’s messages as well as our messages in APAC.
  • Manage local PR agencies and be the point person for media in regions outside China. Proactively handle comms in the other strategic markets.
  • Have the capability to follow impacts made through marketing actions, press releases, or activities generated from initiatives by sponsors of the club.
  • Write press releases and internal communications on acts promoted by the HK office or the HQ in Europe.
  • Have the capability to work with global media and empathize to achieve results in high-standing media, to consolidate the club’s corporate messages.


Knowledge required

  • Devising and developing communications campaigns, using relevant insights, powerful creative ideas, and excellent execution.
  • Working on 360 campaigns.
  • Capability to detect key influencers for the growth of the brand in APAC.
  • Knowledge and contacts in important APAC media.
  • Experience in corporate communications in global businesses.

Abilities required

  • To make a difference with a contribution, working autonomously and with initiative.
  • Capacity to build relationships externally and internally, looking for alliances to carry out functions.
  • Building strategic communication brand plans, strengthening the key values of the brand.

Training, Education, Languages

  • Degree in Marketing and/or Communications
  • Min 5 years of experience in communications/media relations/press release
  • Mandarin is a plus
