This role provides the opportunity for exposure to a wide variety of protection products in diverse
markets. Moreover, it requires ability to convert ideas into solutions by the power of innovative
underwriting. Your are expected to be sound in product underwriting and data driven underwriting
solutions.
In more details your responsibilities will include to:
• Participate in product development initiatives to provide underwriting expertise and insights on risk
assessment and risk management
• Proactively look for ways to sustainably improve the underwriting and/or onboarding process for different
channels, target segments and coverages
• Build and develop strong relationships with focused clients, understand client needs and proactively
provide solutions
• Conceptualize and build a modular underwriting training program for client underwriters
• Develop the e-underwriting proposition for Asia Pacific, especially smart solutions for facultative
underwriting
• Keep up-to-date with competitive landscape and continuously benchmarks offers with
market trends and developments in product, technology and underwriting innovations.

Moreover, you have the following background, skills and mindset:
• Over 10 years of experience in medical underwriting with minimum 5 years’ experience as a senior life and health underwriter, preferably with a re-insurer
• Exposure to one of the South East Asian Markets or North Asian Markets is a must
• Strong analytical skills and excellent product development skills
• Good understanding of products popular in at least one Asian market
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, additional Asian language skills such as Mandarin, Korean, Japanese, Bahasa or Thai are highly desirable for business communications
• Successful track record of implementing underwriting solutions
• University Degree, preferably in Finance, Life Sciences or Medicine
• Professional underwriting qualification or is working towards its completion (e.g. FLMI, FALU)
